Every vacation I visit my grandparents who live in Kerala. I always have a lot of fun when I go there, because all my cousins are there.  First I went to my father’s place in Thripunithura, a place near Cochin. My loving grand mother lives there.  While in Thripunithura, I used to go to the Lord Poornathrayeesha Temple every day. I also enjoyed playing cricket with my cousins.  One day I went to Munnar with my aunt and my cousins. Munnar is a beautiful place in the district of Idukki in Kerala. In Munnar we visited Rajamala, a place famous for Nilgiri tahr, a type of mountain goat. We also went to the Top Station, the highest point in Munnar, from where we could see the beautiful valley. On the second day of our trip we went to the Flower Garden and the Kundallur dam. But we could not go for boating at the dam.

After 3 weeks stay at Thripunithura, my mother and me went to Pandalam, my mother’s place. Pandalam is the birth place of Lord Ayyappa. My mother’s house is located near the banks of river Achenkovil. I used to bathe in the river every day. Every morning I used to go to Lord Ayyappa temple next to my house. I also sang a prayer at a bhajan organized by my uncle. The prayer was taught by my music teacher during assembly in school. I also learnt to ride a bicycle without side wheel support. It was when we were at Pandalam that the monsoon season started. One rainy day my mother and I went out for a walk. We carried an umbrella because we did not want catch cold.

I really loved my stay at Thripunithura, and told my mother that I would like to stay with my cousins one day. The vacations were so good that I did not feel like to coming back to Chennai. But it is fun to be back in school with my friends.  It was one of the best vacations I have had.
