They had to write an essay on the topic ‘WHAT WOULD YOU BECOME WHEN YOU GROW UP. Vidula had written that her ambition was to become a noble teacher. According to her, she wants to change today’s materialistic teaching to a noble one. Instead of studying and mugging up the answers students should try to understand the meaning of what they study. For this they need a teacher of noble thinking. She says and she was very happy when she knew that her ideals were honoured by selecting her for the next round of an interview which was interviewed by the HINDUSTAN TIMES Mumbai’s resident editor SOUMYA BHATTACHARYA and deputy resident editor PRAVIN NAIR at their office in Mahim. Her interview was very tough with them. She was very surprised to know from the editor himself that from more than 42,547 applicants among 150 she was selected. This was for the first time she knew how big this programme was.

She was on the seventh heaven when she knew that she had been selected among the top 50 winners, who were going to be awarded Rs. 50,000 scholarship. The felicitation programme at SHANMUKHANAND HALL, SION ON 17th FEB. 2012 was a grand ceremony and the winners were awarded by an elite panel consisting the tennis legend ” LEANDER PAES” , the film makers R.BALKI and AMOL GUPTE, the youngest person to have scaled EVERST ”ARJUN VAPAI” and SOUMYA BHATTACHARYA himself. Also SHAHRUKH KHAN the popular actor himself was present at the ceremony as his daughter had bagged the scholarship. The winners were awarded with a trophy and a certificate of merit.
