Senior Karuna members Shri Prakash Gulecha and Shri KPJ Reddy gave prizes to the best placards and slogans.

The rally covered a distance of 3 km. Police jeep and motorbikes that came along with the rally facilitated the rally to go on smoothly.

Grandparents Day

Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children.

Grandparents are our heritage and are essential members of our families and communities. That is why in our school a special day,
Grandparent’s Day, is set aside every year to honour them.  Our Principal Mrs. P. Vijayalakshmi and Correspondent Shri. N. Nagarajan welcomed the grandparents on this day. Children were given an opportunity to express their love and gratitude to their grandparents. They organised several games for them. On a concluding note, Principal Mrs. P. Vijayalakshmi expressed her sincere gratitude to the grandparents who are a family’s strong foundation and who through their special love and caring, keep a family close at heart.

Karuna InterSchool Competitions

The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others. No one has yet realized the wealth of sympathy, kindness and generosity hidden in the soul of a child. The effort of every true education should be to unlock that treasure. With this thought, the Karuna Club of our school organised Inter-School Competitions on 24.08.10, Saturday (Forenoon) in the school premises.

Our correspondent Shri. N. Nagarajan welcomed the chief guest, Mrs. Lakshmi Neelakantan, CEO Karuna International who very graciously accepted to preside over the function and address the children. Mrs. Lakshmi Neelakantan in a most effective manner made the children understand that the purpose of taking part in the competition is not just winning, but give our best and also understand that let the child who is the best must win. This helped inculcate a healthy competition amongst the children. Students from 19 schools from all over Chennai enthusiastically participated in the various competitions. The competitions that were conducted were singing, dancing, drawing and colouring, essay writing, poem writing, collage, rangoli and poster making. The topics were various topics were based on the various Karuna values such as compassion, nature, world peace etc

The valedictory function was presided by Karuna Club General Secretary, Shri. Suresh Kankaria, who motivated the children to repeat the Karuna Prayer after him and also made children understand the meaning of the prayer. Shri. Suresh Kankaria and our Vice-Principal Mrs. Nalini gave away the prizes to the children. Mrs. Vasundhara Nahar, Karuna Club coordinator rendered the vote of thanks. The programme ended with the National anthem sung by the Chinmaya Vidyalaya students.
