The much awaited Annual Sports Day of L. M. Dadha Sr. Sec. School, Choolaimedu, Chennai, was held on Friday, 30th November 2018, with great zeal, excitement, and frolicsome atmosphere. The programme began with School Principal, Mrs. S Shoba, welcoming the esteemed gathering and emphasizing the importance of sports in a child’s life.

The chief guest, Sri. Muthuvel Pandi, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Nungambakkam Range, Smt. A. Arunmozhi, Assistant Commissioner in State Tax, and Principal, Mrs. S Shoba also took the salute of the impressive March Past of the students, coupled with some stirring marching music by the band. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the Sports captain. It was heartening to see the students participating in large numbers with great enthusiasm.

An energizing Yoga display set the tone for the rest of the event. The students put up a Karate display and mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances. Once the cultural programmes began, the air was filled with the sound of cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. The displays included a “Skating Demo” presentation by S Vidyuth of UKG, “Go Green & No Plastics” drill by students of Std. III, “Unity is Strength” drill by students of Std. IV, and “Semi Folk Dance”.

The Chief Guest, Sri. Muthuvel Palani, in his address, lauded the Sports Day event, stated that it was perfect, and shared that he could gauge the pains and efforts taken by teachers and students for making such a flawless presentation. He was superlative in his praise for the March past done by the students stating that it was outstanding and well synchronized and that he would ask his police battalion to learn from them.

The students of Std. XI & X were adjudged “The Best Class” in the March Past, and Rohini House was deemed “Overall Best House” in sports events. The Chief Guests distributed the trophies to the sports event winners.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mr. S Sathish Kumar, PT Master of the school, and the Sports Meet witnessed its culmination with the National Anthem.
