Presentation of “Mechanical Sieve” at AVISHKAR 2017

Bodhisatva, a Std. VI student of Free Methodist School, Yavatmal, Maharashtra, participated in “AVISHKAR 2017”, a Regional-Level Student Research Convention held under the aegis of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (Amravati, Maharashtra).

The Convention was organized by Amolakchand Mahavidyalaya (Yavatmal, Maharashtra) on 07 December 2017.

At the Convention, Bodhisatva presented his scientific contribution titled “Mechanical Sieve”, for the benefit of farmers. Bodhisatva’s mechanical sieve could filter up to 20 kilograms of wheat of any other type of grain, domestically. Additionally, this mechanical sieve can be upgraded with the insertion of an iron or wooden rod in-between the “bed” of the assembly, enabling farmers to filter hundreds of kilograms of wheat/grain, industrially.

The sieve can be manufactured at a very low cost and thus it is easily affordable. Also, operating the mechanical sieve is easy and convenient, making it a critical alternative to the otherwise labour-intensive and time-consuming process of sieving wheat/grain.

The working model earned Bodhisatva a duly signed certificate of recognition.
