73rd Independence Day Celebrations

L. M. Dadha Sr. Sec. School celebrated the 73rd Independence Day on 15.08.19 with great enthusiasm.

The programme started with the unfurling of the tri-colour by Sri. S. Mohan, IRS., Retd. Asst. Commissioner, Customs and Central Excise Dept. Chennai. All students and staff sung the patriotic Tamil anthem “Thaayin Manikodi Pareer” and took the Freedom Pledge on the occasion.

This was followed by a colourful presentation of cultural events. School choir presented “Ezhundhidu Dhesame”, the national patriot song in Tamil. Speeches in English and Tamil were rendered by the students, while another group did a “Vande Matharam” dance. A student also presented the meaning of the Indian National Anthem.

Mrs. S Shoba, School Principal, welcomed the Chief Guest and the audience. The Correspondent, Mrs. Chandra Nahata, presented the memento to the Chief Guest, who called upon the students to “strive hard to sustain the independence we were rewarded by our freedom fighting forefathers”. The Chief Guest’s inspiring speech added flavour to the occasion.

The cultural programmes presented by students were highly appreciated, and prizes were distributed to the winners.

Thus, it was a memorable day to the students of L. M. Dadha School.

Annual Day Celebrations

Dr. U Ramarao Kala Mandap, Karnataka Sangha Hall, T. Nagar, Chennai, was agog with festivity and fervour when L. M. Dadha Sr. Sec. School celebrated their 42nd Annual Day on 03.08.19.

Dr. Indira Rangan, School Group Head, Velammal New Gen. Schools, Chennai, was the Chief Guest, and graced the function by mingling with the students, and distributing prizes to them.

School Chairman, Sri. S. Mohanchand Dadha, who is also a vociferous propane among corporate giants, distributed Service Awards to the Staff. Sri. M Mahendra Dadha, Vice Chairman of the School, welcomed the gathering, introduced the Chief Guest Dr. Indira Rangan, and encouraged the parents of the school toppers by giving away awards to them.

Principal, Mrs. S. Shoba read out the Annual Report supported by Power Point Presentation on the happenings of yesteryear. After prize distribution, a colourful cultural programme on the topic “Dance Festival” presented by the students was a fantastic feast for the eyes.

Students performed for the following cultural programmes—

  • Invocation Dance
  • Micky Mouse Dance on the theme, “We should not judge a book by its cover”
  • Money, Money, Money – Save Money
  • Traditional Folk Art “Paraiyattam”
  • Russian Dance on the theme “Go Green”
  • Rajasthani Traditional Dance
  • Pinnalattam

All the programmes were very much appreciated by the Parents and Guests.

Smt. Chandra Nahata, School Correspondent, rendered the Vote of Thanks.

Thus, the programme ended happily.


The new President and other office bearers for the Interact Club of L M Dadha. Sr. Sec. School, Choolaimedu, Chennai, took charge during the Installation Ceremony held on 22.07.19.

The President and office bearers were installed for the year 2019-20. Members of Rotary Club of MadrasSri. Chinni Balaji, Director of Youth Services, and Smt. Jayashree Sridhar, Zone Chairperson, RCM—graced the occasion.

Hawwa Amrin took over as President during the function from T R Katyayani. The new President of the club promised to continue the work being taken up by previous office bearers of the club.

School Principal Smt. S. Shoba welcomed the gathering. Former Secretary of the club V. Rishi spoke of the activities undertaken by the club in the previous year.

“MANJUSHA” 2019 – 19.07.19 & 20.07.19

The Interact Club and Karuna Club of L. M. Dadha Sr. Sec. School together celebrated their inter-school cultural fest “MANJUSHA” 2019 in the school premises on 19.07.19 and 20.07.19.

Many schools actively participated in the cultural contests conducted on-stage and off-stage. School Principal Mrs. S. Shoba, inaugurated the function by the lighting of the traditional kuthuvilakku.

Mrs. Grace Karunaas, actress-and-singer,  was the Chief Guest for the valedictory function. She gave away the prizes to the winners, and in her speech, also emphasized the need of co-curricular activities and called upon the students and faculties to bring out the hidden talents in the students.
