Kindergarten Sports Meet – 12.12.19

The Kindergarten Annual Sports Meet was held with all its usual vigor and enthusiasm on 12.12.19 at the school grounds. Dr. Priya Kannan, Director and Embryologist of Garbba Rakshambigai Fertility Center, was the Chief Guest.

The day’s proceedings began with a mellifluous prayer followed by the welcome address by a UKG student. The events began with “Cheer-up Dance” by Pre-kindergarten children, followed by “Mass drill” by LKG and UKG students and “Kollatam” by UKG students. Events for parents of kindergarten students were also conducted in the school premises.

Mrs. S. Shoba, Principal of the School, introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering and presented a memento and bouquet. The Chief Guest delivered an informative and thought-provoking address, and distributed prizes to the winners. Parents, in large numbers, witnessed the happy occasion and carried the pleasant memories with them.

43rd Annual Sports Meet – 29.11.2019

The much-awaited Annual Sports Day was held on Friday, with great zeal, excitement, and frolicsome atmosphere. The programme began with the Principal Mrs. S. Shoba welcoming the esteemed gathering, with a speech emphasized on the importance of sports in a child’s life. The Chief Guest, Sri. V. Mareeswaran, Sub-Inspector of Police, Choolaimedu Police Station, and Principal Mrs. S. Shoba, took the salute of the impressive March Past by the students, coupled with some stirring marching music by the band.

The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the Sports Captain. An energizing yoga display set the tone for the rest of the event. The students displayed their Karate talent, mesmerizing the audience with their energetic performances. Once the cultural programme began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. The presentation included “Go Green, Use Millets, and Avoid plastics” drill by IV Std, “Aerobics” drill by V Std, and Folk Dance.

The Chief Guest, in his address, lauded the Sports Day event and stated that it was perfect and that he could gauge the pains and efforts taken by teachers and students, with great enthusiasm. XII & X std students were adjudged the “Best Class in the March Past” and the “Overall Best House” in sports events is Aryabhatta House. The Chief Guest distributed the trophies to the sports event winners.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mr. S. Sathish Kumar, PT Master of the school. The Meet saw its culmination with the National Anthem.

Competitive Exam on Stories on Compassion – 25.11.19

Every year Karuna International conducts “Stories on Compassion” competitive exam for the school students, as a part of Karuna club activity. 305 students from IV TO XI Std actively participated in the competition. The programme started with Karuna Prayer and followed by the exam.

Children’s day celebration – Fancy Dress Competition – 14.11.2019 and 16.11.2019

The School was clad with a festive look on occasion of an inter-house Fancy Dress competition in connection with Children’s Day Celebration. Students from L.K.G TO V Std actively participated, and various important topics were covered in the above competition like Bharathiyar, Veerapandia Katta Bomman, Blood donation, Save Water, Eco Friendly Environment, Swachh Bharath, Gardening, harmful effects of polyethylene bags and junk food, usages of nuclear power plants, magicians, Internet etc.

Diwali Celebrations on 25.10.19

Karuna Club celebrated Diwali Festival in the school on 25.10.2019. The students decorated the hall with lanterns and earthen lamps. Cultural programmes were planned to celebrate the occasion, with students coming out with colorful performances. There was also another big event on this occasion. Students and teachers burnt crackers, much to the enjoyment of the students.

Our Principal, Mrs. Shoba, gave a speech at the end. She urged the students to enjoy safe and happy Diwali, and also wished that the whole of India be healthier and more prosperous. Certainly it was the most unique Diwali we had ever celebrated.

Drawing Competition “Where is our food coming from?” – 23.10.19

As a part of Karuna Club activity, the club and the school conducted Drawing Competition on 23.10.19 on the topic “Where is our food coming from?” Nearly 210 students from VI TO IX Std have actively participated in the competition. From that, best drawings were selected and sent to Karuna International – Hyderabad.

Navaratri Kolu – 04.10.19

L. M. Dadha Sr. Sec. School, in association with Karuna Club, celebrated Navaratri Kolu in the school premises for 9 days.

Kolu “dolls arrangement” on the theme “Animals associated with God” to understand the importance of animals was inaugurated by the Principal, Mrs. S. Shoba. In addition to the traditional kolu, they had also arranged each of the five geographical thinais named after a flower that is characteristic of that landscape. Kurinji—Mountainous Region; Mullai—Forests; Marutham—Cropland; Neithal—Seashore and Pālai—Dry Lands. These were very much appreciated by the parents and visitors.

The children performed pooja for Goddess Saraswathi and sung devotional songs. Smt. Chandrakala, Management Committee Member, visited the Kolu and appreciated the club members for the teamwork. 100 students recited “Vishnu Sahasra Namam” on 04.10.19, and 15 students were dressed as different gods and seated in separate kolu. Parents, with their wards, visited the Kolu in large numbers, and appreciated the efforts of the children. All the visitors of Kolu were given sundal and chocolates.

Ahimsa Peace Rally & Awareness of importance of CCTV installation – 03.10.19

Mahatma Gandhi – an icon of AHIMSA, NON-VIOLENCE, SATHYAGRAHA, COMPASSION – is always a source of inspiration for people of all ages.

Karuna Club organized an “AHIMSA PEACE RALLY” to propagate the principles of MAHATHMA GANDHI on 03.10.19.

The rally was flagged off from the school by the Principal, Smt. S. Shoba, which covered the whole Choolaimedu area. The children had designed attractive placards on Non-violence, Peace, Harmony, World Peace and Ahimsa, and also slogans on the theme “Peace”.

The students distributed pamphlets carrying the message of peace. The drawings of Indian freedom fighters were also handed out by club members of the school. The children marched enthusiastically, shouting slogans. The children held hands and formed a human chain. Around 375 students along with 10 teachers took part in the rally and reached the public to the extent possible. After a two and half kilometers walk, the students reached the school.

As requested by the Inspector of Police, Choolaimedu R5 Police Station, an awareness of installing “Third Eye” (Closed-Circuit Television “CCTV” cameras) among the public was created by students carrying slogans and placards.

The rally was a huge success and was conducted smoothly with adequate police escort.
