As we have discussed earlier about the functions of the right brain and the left brain. Here are a few tests to determine which side is more dominant for you.

Because our brains are organized differently, we all see and think differently and can get some very different results from various “brain tests”. These tests can be used to determine which side of our brain is more dominant. Usually a creative mind will see things differently from others. Here’s a famous test of creativity – have a look at the image below:

A non-creative left brain sees only an image of disconnected shapes without making much sense of the image, but the right brain can go beyond logic and find the connecting concept that makes sense of the shapes and creates an image. If you can’t “see” beyond the shapes, it’s because your left brain is trying to solve the problem and will not allow the right brain to make any sense of this image.

The picture is about a dog drinking from a stream, the dog is positioned in the center of the picture with its head in the middle facing down to the water and its tail pointed towards the right.

Here’s another example to show how your right brain works, it can even create things that don’t exist. If you can see the white triangle – the one with its apex pointing up – it’s because your right brain has created that triangle to unify what is otherwise simply a collection of angles and PacMan shapes. There is, in fact, no white triangle there.

  20. Damodar Rao says:

In the first picture i saw a comodo dragon facing its head down in the stream, i failed to notice the dog even after reading the narration of the picture, in the second picture without even reading anything any body can see a white triangle. which is an illusion created by brain. There is proverb in kannada KAANAARE KANDARU PRAMANISI NODU.

  21. Madhan Mohan says:

A good one to read but to teach to childrens need such type of examples for students age of 5 or 6. If such thing also added then it would bw highly appreciated
