Today in this shuffling world we are bounded with plastics in our daily life…. The main reason is easy to carry, easy to wash, easy affordable, easy to lift, long – lasting etc… But have we ever noticed or taken a concern to look back a minute and think is plastic really the right choice?   How many of us have turned the bottle to look at the number given in triangle at the bottom.

YES, we are carrying diseases that brings health hazardous to us.   “WE ARE SPOILING THE HEALTHIER FUTURE GENERATIONS”.

Found this interesting link on the web where we can learn how to pick the right plastic containers. It educates us son the different kinds of plastic materials and the number system associated with the quality of the plastic. The number system helps us identify if the plastic is safe to use, should it be used once only, plastic that should avoided at any cost and even controversial plastics, the usage of which is prohibited by some and accepted by others. For example, the controversial plastic with the number 7 contains polycarbonate called bishphenol A, which the US government considers good for food containers, but Canadian government is considering banning.

The link also contains tips on using plastic containers to store food and liquid.

The future of our children’s health is in our hands. So, let us be educated on what will help them grow with good health.

BTW, I am not sure of how this number system is practiced in India by the plastic container manufacturers but it is in our interest to find good products and buy only those who follow the standards.
