I have read all the books the author has penned. But, this book is a must read for the senior school students. The speed race to join reputed engineering colleges, how a student can miss with enough efforts, the support, the expectations of Parents, the corporate called “coaching for entrance” are all meshed inside a simple storyline. Specially, the Kota classes of Rajasthan will fall in line with many such institutions in all other states. The farmers children wanting to be Engineers and pledging their life earnings on it – to the functioning of the entire system has been researched well and brought out in black and white with the romantic gray scales. The most important message from the author as I see is ethics with following the passion and excelling in the field of choice. “Three idiots” had a character where one IITan wanted to be a photographer. In this book the IITan wants to be a journalist and wants to work and fight against injustice in the society. A check on what skills are with the child, how much can be acquired, the max stretch possible have to be considered before decisions on the race are taken. This will keep everyone in the family happy and give stress reduced days. Gain knowledge not just marks. When your hobby is your job it is longterm.

Authors I like – Sheldon, Robert ludlum, Harlen Coben, Sudha Narayanamurthy.

Indeed a wonderful book. A very good lesson parents also to understand that you need to understand your child’s interest areas and not just force them to fulfill your dream.
