It was two days of frenzied outburst of creativity at SSK. Guess why? The annual cultural fiesta of Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya Senior Secondary School “KALPAKOSHA” had arrived. The Kalalayans played host to 27 schools from different parts of Chennai on the 27th and 28th of June 2012. It was a showcase of the abundant talents of our budding youth who are ready to take wings and explore newer horizons after their schooling.
The cultural fest was inaugurated by the famous playback singer Shri. Haricharan Seshadri. In his address Haricharan spoke about the dreams each one of us have and how fulfilling it would be to pursue and make a career of them.

The events started off with fusion music. There were some outstanding performances which left the audience totally enthralled. Ms. Vinaya Prasad, another famous playback singer judged the show.
Some of the other events that were held were FOOTBALL, FACE PAINTING, BLOCK AND TACKLE, ADZAP, SHIPWRECK, QUIZ and JAM.
Adzap was fun-filled all the way as participants waxed eloquent about their products. The face painting competition saw some ‘fierce’ competition what with topics such as ‘Wilderness’, Tribes of India’ and ‘Marine Life’.
JAM was a big hit with funny topics and bringing to fore the verbose skills of the contestants.
Cerebral, the quiz event had six teams battling out to answer the volley of questions from various genres.
Day 2 (28-6-12) began with the inter-school Dance Competition which was judged by TV personalities Mr. Girish and Mr. Wang.
DUMB C, CHANNEL SURFING, SPOOF IT UP, LEXICON were events that were a roaring success with teams trying to outperform each other. It was a day that everyone would have something to remember about.
An array of delicious delights were provided on both days by Surya Sweets, Krispy Cream, Amul Ice Creams and Pepsi Soft Drinks.
The curtains were drawn on Kalpakosha ’12 with the valedictory function for which Dr. Ambika Kameshwar, Director of RASA was the chief guest. P.S.Senior Secondary School were declared the winners and received the Kalpakosha trophy.
