Chinmaya Vidyalaya Virugambakkam Chennai-92 celebrates National Year of Mathematics
Math Jamboree 2012, a series of inter-school Math competitions was held at Chinmaya Vidyalaya Virugambakkam Chennai-92 on 7th July 2012. Sixteen schools comprising 300 children, across the city enthusiastically participated in the various events.
Mr. Sathyamoorthy, Principal of Chinmaya Vidyalaya Taylors Road inaugurated the function. Principal Mrs. P.Vijayalakshmi welcomed the gathering. Mr. Sathyamoorthy, in his inaugural address stated “Math is the only Universal truth”. Mrs. R. Nalini, Vice Principal delivered the vote of thanks.

Math Eurhythmics, Math Charades, Treasure Quest, Math Buzz, Math-Camera-Action, Math Adroitness and Model Flaunt were some of the novel competitions that were appreciated by one and all. The Mathemagicians, with wonderful Math and Magic wizards under the colourful canopies, entertained the visitors to bring in a festive mood to the programme.
Math Jamboree had certainly achieved its goal, making the children develop more interest in Mathematics, and get rid of the Phobia of Mathematics.
