My daughter is in IV standard  and here is a short story written by her about her birth day. When I read this first time I was really amazed to see how she had employed the right element (a twist) that makes short store more interesting.

Here is the story:

My Birth Day at the Seashore

I am Smruthi. On my birthday my family gave me a big surprise. They told me that it is too boring and let us go out to beach; so all of us planned to go in nice dresses. I was a little doubtful so I asked my mom, are we really going to the beach?

‘Yes’, she told. So I took the SandCastle Set and our swim suit. When we went I saw all my friends and cousins. We went in and I saw a cake which I liked. On it was written HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU SMRUTHI.

I thanked my parents for giving me a very good surprise.

And suddenly my father woke me up. At last it was a dream. I wish I had my birthday really like that.
