I was at a fair with my 9 year old son and someone approached me with a hand held Tablet PC. He talked about how my son could learn his school subjects with the content on the Tablet PC and how I could stop sending him for tuitions.

He thrust it into my son’s hand and showed him how he could learn new English words with the animation running on the Tablet PC.

Once in his hands, the first thing my son asked him was, “uncle can I play games?”

The salesman cleverly grabbed it from my son and began addressing me with all the features of it and I too looked at it.

It looked nice though I wasn’t sure if I wanted to buy one when he said it was Rs.14, 000.

I was wondering if anyone has bought it already and if so, can you please share your experience? Does it really help your child learn subjects better and faster Or was it one of those me too thing?

Would love to hear from other parents.

You have an option to uninstall all the games and install only educational games like puzzles may be to have some fun and also some learning.

Kids learn very quickly with gadgets and they will have fun too. My 3 year old kid learned Rhymes, Numbers, Colors, Shapes and Alphabets very easily and quickly with iPhone. I keep installing new apps, this would help him explore new options and different ways of learning also.

But, make sure your kid is not spending too much time on it. May be half an hour to one hour a day shouldn’t harm their eyes.

    High ,
We should seriously involve our child right from the nursery in athletics. It should be as a regular subject then only it will be part of our culture of sports. Which will give result after a decade in olympics.

It’s pleasure to share the facts in this regards.

I myself observed that working on tabs for long time leads to stress on eyes and if used in evening or night, hampers the sleeping.

My son initially was very much inclined to games but not so continuously

But he does not like educational tools on the pad too

I think limited usage may help

    Can be experimented with caution
