This book makes us realize that parenting is a big commitment and should not be taken lightly. This is a book recommended not only for parents, also for parents to be.

Normally one would think ‘oh another book on the subject’. However, when we start reading it, we are taken to the subject. She has presented very open, clear and honest solutions from her personal experiences and from those who shared theirs. Written by a mother, the book advises us in a very practical way how to and how not to behave with or in front of kids! The work also opens discussion on various issues attached to the main subject.

The topics are well cataloged; the content and the methods therein are humorous, honest, practical, intelligent and working. The author has done an honest job by including contra views. The situations she described have, I am sure would have definitely happened in our homes. When I go on reading the book, it made me wonder whether she peeped into my house without my knowledge. It is not a book written for the sake of writing, but talks about every situation that happens in our day to day lives as kids grow.

I am a Japanese language specialist by profession. Since childhood I have had passion for languages. Book reading, though started as a hobby became a part of my daily chore. I was the chief editor of magazines that were published in my college as well as school. I am an active contributor of articles to many Indian parenting community sites.

    Hello Sangeetha,

Being a void reader myself and mother of 2 grown up kids now, sometime when I come across Parenting books written by western author.I find that I couldn’t relate the live example , instruction and suggestion stated in it to our Indian lifestyle. I best tool I have found to manage my little one is to read a book at the bedtime. Just a private and exclusive time with my loved one.
For my teenage daughter, daily walk for 15 mins to 20 mins after dinner with her alone is working well for her to analyze her self and deciding based on our private relaxed talk.
