1. What is Yokibu?

Yokibu is an online community for parents. Through Yokibu, you can get instantly connected to the parents of your child's classmates and exchange mutually beneficial information.

1.1 Yokibu Participating Schools

Yokibu also helps schools to connect with parents. Those schools that sign up with Yokibu are called Yokibu Participating Schools. Schools can send circulars, student records and other information to parents through Yokibu. When a school sends a message, parents are always notified by email. For emergency messages, schools may choose to send SMS alerts too.

In addition to the School Messages, on Yokibu, you can also access information on events such as Seminars, Workshops, Field Trips, Camps, Courses, and Books, Videos, and News items relevant to your child's age group.

2. How can I become a member of Yokibu?

If you are a parent of a child studying in school (Chennai only for now), and you have friend who is already a member of Yokibu, then your friend can send you an invitation to join Yokibu.

Also, if your child's school is a Yokibu Participating School, then you will automatically be registered on Yokibu by your child's school. You will be notified through email and SMS when the school registers you on Yokibu.

3. How do I know the school has sent a message?

When your child's school sends a message to you, you will be notified through email. For emergency messages, the school may choose to send SMS alerts too.

4. How do I read the school message on Yokibu?

When a school sends a message, you will be notified through Email.

  • Login to your Email account and click the link in the email.
  • The link will open up our site Yokibu.com.
  • Login with your email address and password
  • You will be taken to the appropriate page with the school message.

5. Where will I find information regarding my child on Yokibu?

Your child's class Home Page is the page you can read all information relevant to your child. This includes messages from your child's school and also other information like Events relevant to your child.

To go to your child's Class Home page:

  • After you login, on the left side you should see your child's name and the class name under your child's name.
  • Click on the class name. This will take you to your child's class home page.

6. How do I view parents of my child's classmates?

On the Class Home page, you should see the option: Class Parents. Click on it to see the parents of your child's class mates.

7. How can I discuss an issue with the parents of my child's classmates?

On the Class Home page you should see the option Ask or Discuss. Click on it to view all the discussions.

7.1 To open a new topic or ask a new question:

Click on the Ask or Discuss link on the page to post a new topic. Please note that this will send an email to all parents in the class forum with the subject of the topic.

7.2 To open an existing topic:

Click on the topic subject to open the topic from the topic list. This will open up the topic tree.

7.3 To view all responses:

To view all responses at any level, just click on the image associated with the subject of the response.

7.4 To post a reply:

  • Click on the subject at any level. This will open up the response or the message.
  • You will see the name of the parent who posted the response or the message on the left top and the full message.
  • To reply to this post, Click on the link Reply button at the right bottom of this message.

8. Can I exchange a private message with a parent?

Yes.

  • Go to the Class Parents page.
  • Click on the name of the parent you wish to exchange the private message with.
  • You should see the option Send Message on the left side below the photo of the parent.
  • Click on it to send a private message.

9. How do I view events relevant to my children?

In order to keep you informed of the events such as seminars, field trips, camps, workshops, and other events that are relevant to your child's age group and may help improve your child's skill and also help you in parenting, we publish detailed information on those events on Yokibu.

Click on the Events option displayed on the top. This will open up the page with the list of events relevant to your children.

10. How do I know when you publish new events on Yokibu?

We send regular emails when we publish information on latest events. However, if you do not wish to receive these emails, you can always send us an email to support@yokibu.com with the subject "Unsubscribe" and the reason for removing your email address from our list, in the body of the email.

11. How do I invite a parent that I know to join Yokibu?

  • Click on the Invite a Parent option displayed on the top.
  • Then enter the name, email address of your friend.
  • Ensure the following before you hit the Submit button.
    • Read the text of I have read the note below option
    • Check box is enabled.

12. I have forgotten my password. How do I login now?

12.1 To get a temporary password:

  • Go to http://www.yokibu.com/signin.php
  • Click on the link Forgot Password below the login box on the right side of the page.
  • Enter your email address that you registered with Yokibu.com
  • This will send you a temporary password to your email address.

We highly recommend you to change your temporary password to something that you can easily remember.

12.2 To change your temporary password to something that you can easily remember.

  • Go to http://www.yokibu.com/signin.php
  • Login with your email address and temporary password.
  • Click on the My Profile option displayed on the left side.
  • Then click on Change Password link displayed on the My Profile Page.
  • Enter the current temporary password and the new password of your choice to change your password.

13. How do I view and update my profile on Yokibu?

  • Go to http://www.yokibu.com/signin.php
  • Login with your email address and temporary password.
  • Click on the My Profile option displayed on the left side.
  • You can select the appropriate links on the My Profile page to change your profile information.

14. How do I change my password?

  • Go to My Profile page.
  • Then click on Change Password link displayed on the My Profile Page.
  • Enter the current password and the new password of your choice to change your password.

15. How do I change my email address?

  • Go to My Profile page.
  • Then click on Change Email displayed on the My Profile Page.
  • Enter your new email address.
  • Ensure the following before you hit the Submit button.
    • Read the text of I have read the note below option
    • Check box is enabled.

You will be sent an activation email to your new email address and you will have to click the link in the activation email. Until then you will be able to login with your old email address and the password.

Also, Please note that this will only change your profile on Yokibu but your schools records will not updated. All school messages will still go to your old email address. To update your school records, you will have to call your child's school and ensure they update the school records on Yokibu.

16. How do I change my photo or my child's photo?

16.1 To change your photo:

  • Go to My Profile page.
  • Then click on Change Photo link displayed on the My Profile Page.

16.2 To change your child's photo:

  • After you login, you should see the option View Profile on the left side
  • Below that you should see your child's name. Click on your child's name.
  • You will now see your child's profile page.
  • You should see the option Update Photo on the right top of that page.
  • Click on it to update your child's photo.

17. I have two children. How do I join both their class forums?

  • After you login, you should see the option Join New Forum on the left side
  • Click on it and follow the instructions carefully to join a new forum for your second child.

18. How does Yokibu protect my privacy?

Yokibu does not allow any other member of Yokibu to view your contact information. Only those who you choose to be friends with on Yokibu have access to your contact information.
